KILIMANJARO

I attended a little seminar about the UN and a few days later I saw the professor that gave it. He asked me if I was from UT as if the red U T A H on my jacket didn't give it away. He commented on the beautiful mountains there and I said yes, how I miss them. I thought of the mountains there in Utah. I also remembered how I said to myself that after law school I wanted to climb Kilimanjaro and especially now before the snow is gone. I had a friend Maron who spoke of how she climbed it and how challenging it was. She also spoke of what an amazing experience it was to stuggle to the top and down. There are a few reasons why I want to do it.
Kilimanjaro is in Africa. There is something about Africa, how it is so different and unknown. There is something that is adventerous. Its just Africa Something draws me there.
I don't know what it is. Maybe its the challenge. Traveling to Africa isn't easy, climbing moutains isn't easy.
Mountain are metaphores In the old testament mountains were considered holy places, temples of sorts. There is something sacred about the tallest mountain on the African contentant. The say that faith can move mountains, even if it is one spoonful at a time. Making it to law school has been one of those journeys for me. Even though I'm here and maybe don't use my time the best, I still study hard and love it. Finishing law school is like climbing Kilimanjaro, both as exotic and strange. Both have this something that is drawing me in to climb. Both are challenges that I want to overcome.
