Scribble Democracy
I voted today. Yes, I voted by scribbling a name down by hand on a piece of paper one inch and a half by inch and half. I signed my name on a piece of paper put down my address and then got a little piece of paper and scribbled it down. I felt like I was voting for class president or maybe capitan of the football team. What the hell? I'm just concerned about fraud. I could right down Ron Paul on a bunch of pieces of paper and miracoulosly Ron Paul wins Minnesota?!?!?! (which I did by the way, just act supprised when you find out). On the good side, people where out to vote. Even at a time when it doesn't necessarily mean as much as in a November election. People were out to get their voices heard. I guess Bush getting elected twice, I mean reallly, TWICE, was enough to shake people up and get out there. Unfortunately they all drove, which meant a few blocks of walking due to the massive amount of debt on wheels parked everywhere. Law school has made me soft and whiney. I'm sure i'll try to sue someone down the road for it, just to give myself something to do. Somebody is ALWAYS negligent for something. I wandered through the school jammed pack with people. Poor janitor is going to have to mop the floors for weeks. I find my precinct and get in the huge line. I stand behind some younger girls from the prestigous Hamline University. Soon others filled in behind me as I soon became very aware of my age. "OMG if you bored or whatever later, like totally give me a call." Scratch my face off with a rusty brillo pad. Yes, I am old and crotchety (damn spell check doesn't work, but you get the gist). On the bright side at least they were there and not "smoking weed and doing homework" one comment I heard about a fellow Hamlinite who did not feel the need to partake in the world's greatest democracy. What a bummer maaan. How are people supposed to buy into a system where your vote counts if you scribble it on a piece of paper. You might as well have a little envolpe with cards inside. Ok, It looks like Huckabee did it, with a Cross in his commercial, in IOWA!!! Game over. Ok, ok, fine they had more people than the expected come out to the polls. How sad is that. We don't expect people to vote. Why not? Suddenly people care. Where were they when Mr. Bush waltzed in to the Oval office, twice. I mean really, TWICE. You know this is way more fun than filing at the library, which I should be doing. Ok, well, I'm going to check on the election results. Pray to God that people don't fall asleep on the Constitution and Bush defying all odds gets elected to an unprecidented third term.

I managed to vote in three different precincts in an hour and a half. You know what they say - vote early and vote often! Democracy rocks! Now all that's left to do is sit back and see how the democrats manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this time. Oh, wait I already know how they'll do it - Hillary vs. McCain. Don't let it happen!
