The Tithe

Jan gave me her tithing check.

I have never felt so honored in my life.

Jan is one of my favorite people in the world. She is the one that gave me the Thanksgiving card that I still have somewhere. (see November 28, 2006). She is a Lutheran and she said that she gives %5 of her check to her church and %5 to a charity that she chooses. She chose my organization. I felt so unworthy of not only her tithe, but her infinite kindness. It's a tithe, in some religions a tithe is something that "gets people to heaven." She wanted to put it toward something that was going to do good in the world. I am blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.....
