Tis' the Season

After a soul sucking 3 weeks of finals I was left with a "two sizes too small" outlook on Christmas. I was balancing the student loan budget to try to make it to Indiana for Christmas. Driving in dense fog from the twin cities, 9 hours later to just outside of my brother's place. I even missed an exit that I needed to take because the visibility was only about 50 ft. I got into town and Mary's (brothers Fiance) parents had generously bought me a ticket to a Christmas caroling event. Apparently it was the place to be for the city. It was beautiful. The townsfolk dressed in their best tuxes and the women in black dresses took the stage. At the very beginning the choir sings with the audience. The power and beauty of all of the voices combined in such a harmonizing way was inspiring. The choir continued to go through out the evening in a variety of songs. A few showed off their talent in little solo numbers. The two children's choirs would join in as well, with their high notes and bright eyed innocence. There was a harp player, flutist with some extremely high heels. During the last song, the adult choir went on the sides of the playhouse and the children then took the stage. There ensuing rendition of Silent Night was a cornucopia of sound. It was then that I remembered.....
