Hell hath a name

Vicente is a guy I meet in my political science classes at the University of Utah. He originally was a lawyer in Peru but left Peru when the shinning path started bombing court house and such. Over the course of a few years we became friends. Vicente has such a happy disposition. He was always giving me a hard time for something. It was always a good time. We both graduated and were studying for the LSAT together. He told me how it was his dream to return to law. He would call during my first year of law school and encourage me. English is Vicente's second language. Even though he got better grades than I did in college. The timed nature of the LSAT puts him at a disadvantage and he has, after several unsuccessful attempts to get into law school, not been able to get in. As I sit in my chair hour after hour studying. I think of Vicente and what he wouldn't give to be in my spot. Finals are hard. 15 hours a day. Lots of caffeine in any form available. The constant fear of failure. The overwhelming amount to learn. The complexity of the material. What would he give to have the privilege of sitting in a law school class room and learn, to continue with his dream. It truely is a privilege and I am humbled by the thought that not everyone who wants a chance gets one. I have a chance.

Para la lucha y tu seno
