The big easy

I made it! I made it to 29 and I've made it to New Orleans. I'd have to say that I love the place. OK so maybe I've been the French Quarter and that's it but needless to say it's awesome. We took a cemetery tour and learned a lot about the city. There was problems initially with all the water, swamp and what not and by what not I mean every disease under the sun. In New Orleans the French pulled what the English did with Georgia and Australia by populating the place with prostitutes and murders, essentially emptying the prisons. This notion explains the existence of all the wild drunkenness. Let's say the world's oldest profession is still in full swing.

One of the coolest parts of the trip is that my brother came down and got engaged. It was cool to see Mary glow and be so happy. I'm excited to have her as part of the family.

My birthday was a good time, which is easy to do on Bourbon Street. We also wandered down and caught a live band playing a great mix of blues. The had a guitar, sax, tuba ( I know a tuba, since when is the tuba cool enough to be in a blues band....It was awesome), trumpet, and the drums. It was a lot of fun.

Stay tuned for pictures.
